  • Frieze:  This is a decorative trim board installed at the top of the siding.

  • Gable:  This is the triangular wall section at the end of a pitched roof.

  • Lap siding:  This is a type of siding installed horizontally, with each row of boards overlapping the previous row.

  • Miter joint:  This is when two pieces of wood are cut at an angle and joined together.

  • Soffit:  This is the underside of the roof overhang.
